About Us
Our Family
At OBPD, we strive to raise happy, healthy puppies within our home. Our dogs live in the house with us, are trained by us, and receive lots of love by very member in our family. We are very careful to place our puppies in homes where they will be loved as much as they are here! If this could be you, feel free to send us an application or reach out with questions!
Puppy Process
When puppies are born, they are monitored carefully by our family. Daily photos and videos are sent to our puppy parents, and weekly posts are made about our litter. At this time, we do not offer hand delivery, but we have some excellent flight nannies at an additional cost- we have used these nannies ourselves, and they are very reputable. At 7 weeks, we will contact our puppy parents to set up time slots for them to pick up their puppy. If they decide to use a flight nanny, we will schedule a time earlier for better prices. And at 8 weeks, they are ready to go home! Puppy selection is at the time of pickup/nanny delivery, so you get to pick out your puppy either in person or over FaceTime!
Meet the human faces behind OBPD
Hello! We are the Shephard family. For several years, we wanted to get into the breeding business, but we didn't start until a few years ago, when our younger members of the fam were older. So here are the introductions (from left to right)-
Mary Wisley- our grandmother, and who introduced us to the breeding world. She has been breeding English Goldendoodles for over 17 years, and recently moved to Florida!
Jessica Shephard- our mom, who is the base of the business and the most amazing mom one could have. She is an incredible prayer warrior, a woman of great faith in the Lord, and a teacher who was (and is) faithful to homeschool us all from kindergarten up until we graduate high school. She has also allowed us to have 3 dogs and a cat... something none of us could ever have imagined several years ago!
Marek Shephard- age 13, and what a fun brother! Marek loved math, creating/designing things, and playing card games with the family. He also loves working as dad's right hand man!
Duke (Zadok) Shephard- age 7, and a never ending tornado of energy! He has a massive head of curls, loves dressing up as Marvel characters, and loves telling us girls we are beautiful.
Adam Shephard- our dad; the best dad any kid would want. He is a faithful worker and business owner (owns his own handyman business!), loving father and husband, and always gives us back rubs at the end of the day as well as reading us missionary books after dinner. Even when he comes home and is tired, he still pours into us teaching us life lessons, science, being hard workers, and better faith in Jesus.
Violet Shephard- age 9, and such a big heart! Violet loves to draw pictures for people, help in the kitchen, and share the gospel with anyone she meets. She also loves to dress up as a princess, and have tea parties with Zade (who joins as Spiderman).
And me... Eliana Shephard. I am the admin for OBPD, and it certainly has been a journey! But as always, the Lord helps me through the rough spots and rejoices with me during the fun. I love training ours dogs, training horses, and working at my vet clinic. I also enjoy writing, planning, designing, and doing Bible studies with my friends.
And let's not forget the furry members of the family- Maevyn, Piper, Mila; and Dutchess, Niko, and Penny. Piper is a retired golden doodle from my grandmothers program, and loves to sunbathe outside. In the Florida heat. Don't ask, I have no idea why. Dutchess is our- very LOUD- cat. She is my snuggle buddy during classes, and sits next to me while I work. Niko & Penny are our tabby and tortie rescue kittens, and they are such fun to have around! Maevyn is our bernie and my personal companion. She loves to please, and is super smart! She and Mila are our breeding females. Mila is our poodle girl, and she is a ball of energy! Her and Zade get along great. She loves to zoom around the yard, cuddle, and give you wet kisses.
